European Protein reports strong growth

Despite a challenging specialised protein market, Danish fermented protein producer European Protein doubled its EBITDA year-on-year in 2025. The company expects continued growth in 2026, driven by a US capacity expansion and the upcoming launch of a new fermentation facility in Malaysia.

Nutreco publishes 2025 Impact Report

Nutreco’s 2025 Impact Report highlights a 47% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions compared to its 2018 baseline. It outlines progress made across its Skretting and Trouw Nutrition businesses, in areas including climate, animal welfare, circularity and responsible sourcing. Nutreco also reported that 90% of its packaging is now recyclable, reusable or compostable.

ADM expands animal nutrition footprint in Brazil with new premix plant

ADM has opened a state-of-the-art, 7,500-sqm premix and feed additives facility in Apucarana, Paraná, Brazil. Operating at a capacity of 40,000 tonnes per year, the highly automated plant is engineered to enhance reliability and predictability across the protein value chain, utilising advanced traceability monitoring and a segregated mixing system with individualised silos.

Hendrix Genetics releases sustainability report

Hendrix Genetics has released a new Sustainability Report outlining how sustainability is integrated across its breeding programmes, operations and partnerships. It highlights the company’s long-term strategy built around animal care, climate resilience and social entrepreneurship, while also providing greater transparency on topics including circularity and responsible sourcing.

CPF and NH Foods advance processed pork partnership

Charoen Pokphand Foods and NH Foods have begun production at their joint venture facility in Chachoengsao, Thailand, under CPF NH Foods Co., Ltd. The partners also launched the new premium processed pork brand, CP Nippon. The venture combines CPF’s integrated supply chain and regional distribution network with NH Foods’ food processing and product development expertise, with products aimed at domestic and export markets across Asia, including Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. 

Sustell gains GMP+ endorsement for feed footprinting platform

Sustell, developed by DSM-Firmenich, has been endorsed under the GMP+ MI5.7 Feed Life Cycle Assessment standard, strengthening its position as a scalable platform for automated feed footprinting. The system enables full life cycle assessment across the animal protein value chain, integrating major feed formulation systems and ingredient databases.

Expanded US authorisation for Zoetis’ New World screwworm treatment

Zoetis has received expanded regulatory clearance in the US for Dectomax-CA1 (doramectin injection), including conditional approval for a new 100 mL vial size and an Emergency Use Authorisation covering multiple livestock species, allowing use in swine for the prevention of New World screwworm alongside cattle, sheep, horses and deer.

BioCV Inc. introduces intelligent sow monitoring system 

BioCV Inc. has launched its BioCV intelligent sow monitoring system in North America, pairing a durable smart ear tag with machine-learning analytics to deliver continuous, real-time data on individual sows. The system detects early signs of estrus, fever, farrowing and lameness, often 12-48 hours before visible symptoms.

Tesco, in partnership with Leading Edge Only (LEO), has opened applications for the 2026 Tesco Agri-tech Challenge, inviting agri-tech innovators worldwide to submit solutions that can help farmers and suppliers build more resilient, sustainable and productive food supply chains.
