Wyno Zwanenburg (60) has been a well-known figure in the Netherlands’ pig industry for many years. He started his career taking over his parents’ pig farm, gradually building that out until he had 1,150 sows, selling weaner pigs. At the same time, he was chairman of the Dutch trade union for pig producers (NVV). After selling his farm in 2016 he focused completely on consultancy activities in the domain of policy, business or knowledge. In April 2023, he took on the job of chairman of the Dutch Coalition for Vital Pig Production (CoViVa). He combines that with other activities within the (international) agrifood business. All over the world organisations exist in and around the swine industry. Recently the Netherlands witnessed the emergence of a brand new umbrella platform, called CoViVa. Consisting of most pig-related stakeholders, it is trying to address major topics that impact all.
