German-based EW Group has entered exclusive negotiations aimed at acquiring the Olmix Group, a company providing natural-based animal care and plant care solutions.
EW Group is well known as a holding company of EW Nutrition as well as companies like Aviagen, Hy-Line, Lohmann Breeders, Hubbard and Vaxxinova, to name a few. It is a global family holding company with altogether more than 300 subsidiaries operating in the life science sector.
Olmix is headquartered in Brehan, Brittany, France and specialises in developing, producing and distributing high-value biosourced solutions for livestock and crop farming. The company is well known for its range of algae-derived products. Currently, the Olmix Group is owned by Amadéite and Motion Equity Partners.
In a news release, Hervé Balusson, founder of Olmix and owner of Amadéite, commented, “We are delighted that Olmix Group has entered into exclusive negotiations with EW Group, which shares the same values. This project would ensure a positive long-term future for the Olmix team and lay the foundation for an excellent outlook for future business development.”
Jan Wesjohann is managing director of EW Group. He added, “We are extremely excited about the prospect of welcoming Olmix employees to EW Group. Over the years the company has developed unique and innovative solutions and has become a leader. We intend to accelerate and support the positive growth path of Olmix as a standalone company in the group next to EW Nutrition.”
As part of the contemplated partnership, EW Group and Olmix would be committed, based on the EW Group principles, to invest in new technologies, R&D and expansion of their international structures. The terms of the contemplated transaction have not been disclosed.
The news release also included a comment by Patrick Eisenchteter of Motion Equity Partners. He said, “It has been a pleasure working closely together with Olmix management to grow the company internationally. It has been a successful partnership, and we are very happy to see that EW Group would continue to support that journey.”
