Brazil’s pork exports have reached a new monthly record in September, totalling 151,600 tons. The figure represented a 25.9% increase compared with the same month in 2024, when 120,400 tons got shipped.

Revenue from September’s exports also set a new record, amounting to US$ 368.4 million – up 29.9% from the US$ 283.7 million registered in the same month of the previous year.

With this strong performance, pork shipments between January and September 2025 have risen by 13.2% in volume compared with the same period of 2024.

In total, Brazil exported 1.12 million tons in the first 3 quarters of 2025, against 990,700 tons in the same period last year. In value, the increase reached 24.6%, with US$ 2.70 billion this year compared with US$ 2.17 billion in 2024.

If the pace continues, Brazil could match or even surpass Canada’s projected 2025 export figures, around 1.3 million tons, according to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). In 2024, Canada and Brazil ranked as the world’s 3rd and 4th largest pork exporters, respectively. The EU-27 and the United States held the 1st and 2nd positions.

Destinations for Brazil’s pork

The Philippines continues to expand its share of Brazilian pork imports, purchasing 49,000 tons in September – a 73.9% rise compared with the same period in 2024.

Ricardo Santin is the president of the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). He said, “Although the Philippines remains the main destination, it is not the only driver behind the strong demand for Brazilian pork, which is growing at significantly high rates in key markets. The outlook is for sustained demand, with record-breaking results expected by the end of the year.”

The total top-10 looks like this:

1        The Philippines (49,000 tons, up 73.9%);

2        China (13,600 tons, down 18.2%);

3        Japan (11,400 tons, up 32.4%);
