Increasing biosecurity awareness at farm level

Pork production in the United States has changed dramatically over the last 20 years. Today, the largest 1% of all US pork producers represents approximately 60% of all annual production while the smallest 60% represent only 1% of annual production. With the high pig density on most modern hog farms, proper biosecurity is essential to protect swine against the transmission of disease between or among herds.     This article can also be found in Pig Progress Volume 21 number 7.
