The weaning dip has been well researched and documented. Where piglets used to be treated with prophylactic antibiotics, nowadays other solutions are needed. One of these is a strategy of reducing microbial pressure and enhancing feed intake. At first, it may sound a bit contradictory – isn’t the weaning dip caused by a (temporary) halt of feed intake?
