Since 2008, veterinarians have reported persistent and sometimes extensive nursery mortality associated with anorexia and weight loss in PCV2-vaccinated pigs1. We have performed a diagnostic investigation in an affected farm and have temporarily named the condition Postweaning Wasting/Catabolic Syndrome (PWCS). Evidence suggests PWCS is likely infectious.
