The authorities in Taiwan have confirmed the outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) on a farm on the island. It is the first-ever outbreak of the viral disease on the island. On Tuesday, October 21, tests confirmed that a pig on a roughly 300-pig farm in the coastal Wuqi district in Taichung, about 150 km south of the capital Taipei, tested positive for the nucleic acid of the virus.
