Pig genetics company Hendrix Genetics and its Chinese partner Huanshan Group have opened the Hendrix Huanshan Nucleus Farm in Yuexi, Anqing City, Anhui province in eastern China.
In a press release, the 2 companies expressed that the new farm reflects the shared ambition to accelerate breeding progress of swine in China. The facility was described to be equipped with modern technologies in biosecurity, environmental management and animal welfare. Novelties include positive-pressure filtration and ventilation systems, precision management, standardised practices and integrated data management for optimal traceability.
The farm was officially inaugurated late October 2025.
Ji Chen, managing director of Hendrix Genetics in China, commented, “The establishment of the Hendrix Huanshan Nucleus Farm is the result of determined collaboration with Huanshan group. Together, we are creating local value for Chinese producers by uniting global genetic expertise with an operational model designed for China’s realities. The farm has already received its first shipment of 1,000 high-health sows, laying the foundation for robust local production and genetic progress.”
For Hendrix Genetics, headquartered in the Netherlands, it is a next step in a busy year, after a merger of Hendrix Genetics with Danish Genetics to form Hendrix Genetics Swine.
Hendrix Genetics’ partner Huanshan Group is a large-scale agricultural and livestock enterprise integrating businesses such as swine breeding and reproduction, feed production, and egg-laying poultry farming.
Committed to the mission of “providing safe agricultural and livestock products while operating as a responsible agricultural enterprise,” the group consolidates various internal and external resources to explore a “long-term sustainable farming production model” aligned with contemporary trends.
