Introducing the Sustainability Impact Award finalists at VIV
Only 1 week to go before the winner of the Sustainability Impact Award will be revealed during an event at VIV Europe, Utrecht, the Netherlands. On the day of the grand award ceremony, readers are able to get to know more about all 5 finalists at a separate round-table discussion at the showgrounds.
The topic of the round-table, organised by Misset International, is “Sustainability and profit: can you have both?” On stage will be representatives of all 5 contenders. Between 11am and noon, at the VIV stage in Hall 12, they will explain in more detail what their innovations are all about and above all – why their ideas are so sustainable that they deserve to be awarded.
The 5 finalists are:
- Nottingham Trent University, UK
- Product/Service: Circular protein feed from biorefineries (ultra-high protein/ corn-fermented protein) and adoption support
- Wageningen Livestock Research, the Netherlands
- Product/Service: Annual Nutrient Cycle Assessment (ANCA), in Dutch: “Kringloopwijzer”
- Novonesis, Denmark
- Product/Service: Bovacillus probiotic
- ADM, United States
- Product/Service: ADM’s regenerations, a multinational regenerative agriculture programme
- Chaincraft, the Netherlands
- Product/Service: C-Craft: upcycling agri-food residues into high-purity medium chain fatty acids (MCFAs).
The 5 finalists got selected by an expert panel of professionals from the food and agriculture sector. Important criteria were the uniqueness of the product or service, the contribution to solving environmental problems and whether the product or service is economically sustainable (ROI).
Sustainability Impact Award event at VIV Europe
The winner of the Sustainability Impact Award will be revealed later on June 3, during a grand evening celebration in Tivoli Vredenburg, just a short walk from the VIV Europe showgrounds. That event will start at 6pm.
