Misset and German publisher of Top Agrar begin cooperation

Misset, publisher of titles such as Pig Progress and various Dutch-language agricultural magazines, has entered into a close collaboration with the German agricultural publisher Landwirtschaftsverlag Münster, which owns leading titles including Germany’s Top Agrar.

The 2 publishing houses from adjacent countries have agreed to regularly exchange information about market developments, agricultural policies and innovative production technologies. That way, practical agricultural expertise from their neighbours can efficiently get “transported” to the respective readerships, the 2 publishing houses announced in a press release. Editorial German-Dutch “tandems” at the departmental level (e.g. crop cultivation, livestock husbandry and market) will take care of this cooperation.

How is agriculture carried out across the border?

As the world of agriculture has strong international components, the motto between the cooperation is “learning from one another.” Important questions will include how production is carried out on both sides of the border, how are EU guidelines being implemented and how do national governments support their farmers?

Erwin van Luit, Misset CEO, commented, “Farmers in our countries are facing significant challenges. In order to produce high-quality food efficiently while being environmentally and animal-friendly, they need to be optimally informed. Through the intensive exchange between the editorial teams, we will be able to provide farmers in our countries with even more valuable impulses for their work in the future.”

Dr Ludger Schulze Pals, managing director of the German publisher, added, “And we will be stronger together. For example, cross-border topics can be researched more intensively together and findings can be published more quickly. Moreover, the close exchange will lead to synergy effects that will make editorial work more efficient.”

Contacts with other agricultural media

In addition to the cooperation now agreed upon, both media houses maintain close contacts with other European agricultural media. Both executives are convinced the cross-border collaboration will gain even more importance.

Publishing house Misset has a diversified portfolio with both titles in Dutch for the domestic market, like Boerderij, Groenten & Fruit and Trekker, as well as titles for an international market, like Poultry World, All About Feed, Dairy Global and Future Farming.

Apart from Top Agrar, the German publishing house is responsible for German titles like Wochenblatt für Landwirtschaft und Landleben, Lebensmittel Praxis.
