Expoaviga focus on electronic identification and traceability

The fifth Expoaviga focused on new technological solutions to actual European concerns: animal welfare, food safety, electronic identification systems and overproduced slurry management. The Spanish minister of agriculture declared that by 2004 all Spanish herds will have to be electronically identified to improve traceability. A special technical meeting on electronic identification showed that reliable systems for pigs are lagging behind those for ruminants. This article can also be fou
